Writing a catchy and creative ad copy is an important factor defining the success of your paid search campaign. It is an important skill that can only be mastered through repetition, testing and continuous monitoring. Having said that, there are 4 vital points that you should always consider and keep in mind whilst writing your enticing ad copy.

However, before I jump into the four qualities, it is very crucial to highlight the importance of doing your research prior to writing the ad copy content. Identifying your target audience, competitors and keywords should always come at the forefront of your campaign checklist and prior to any ad copy creation.

So what are the 4 qualities?

Highlight what makes you unique and present the main features and benefits

Determine what distinguishes you from the other competitors out there; what is the value you are providing to your audience that the rest of competitors are not…is it free shipping, a big discount, or simply a wonderful collection? Tell them!  Always make sure to present those products, services or offers that make you stand out with a competitive advantage. 

Make sure to include your keywords in the ad copy

In Google Adwords, Keywords you put in your ad copy will appear in Bold highlighting the relevancy of your ad. Therefore, make sure to include at least one of your keyword in the ad copy, this will basically show your Ads significance to what people are searching for in Google..

Using the proper call-to-action

Showing your audience great value is brilliant! But are you telling them what to do? Using the proper call-to-action within your PPC ad copy is critical to optimizing your campaign performance. It will basically give your audience an idea what you are asking them to do and what will possibly follow after the click. Some examples of good CTA’s would be Sign-up for free trial, Call Us Today, Purchase Now etc…

Following the rules, especially editorial guidelines for Google AdWords or Bing Ads, is very crucial when writing your ad copy.
